Would you like to discover the landscape of the Salzkammergut while cycling? This is also easy around on lake holidays. Wonderful cycling routes through the region start in front of Ebner's Waldhof am See. You are welcome to borrow touring or mountain bikes from us free of charge, as well as GASGAS e-bikes for a fee. 

    And how about enjoying a sundowner by Lake Fuschl, watching the sunset in the middle of a dreamlike landscape? In the Salzkammergut you can enjoy it all with body and soul.

    Rumingmühle

    This water mill from the 19th century is an example of the regional milling tradition. The mill offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the old water mill, as well as inviting you to sit back and enjoy some local delicacies, such as a hearty snack of cheese and bread. And learn how it was made in days gone by. And for the children, baking Steckerlbrot bread on Tuesdays is a real highlight! How to get to the mill:

    Wartenfels Ruin

    This impressive cultural monument, located on the western slope of the Schober, dates back to 1259 and today invites you to explore and scramble. This is how to reach the ruin:

    • hiking trail no. 10 starting from Fuschl - passing the Waldhof Alm
    • walking time: approx. 60 minutes
    Hundsmarkt Mill Thalgau 

    This historic mill is now a museum and presents the traditional path from grain to bread in its exhibition. How to get to the mill:

    • walking time: approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
    • travel time by car: approx. 10 minutes
    Gut Aiderbichl

    This popular animal sanctuary is a not only a great destination for families. In addition to guided tours of the estate, various film screenings, special exhibitions, and Easter and Christmas markets await you. How to get to the estate:

    Schloss Fuschl Fishery

    The Schloss Fuschl Fishery can be found in a picturesque location, directly beside Lake Fuschl with views of the world-famous Fuschl Castle in the background. For decades, the Schloss Fuschl Fishery has been offering locals and guests alike perfect quality fish specialities that can be enjoyed there at tables by the lake or taken home. This is how you reach the fishery:

    • walking time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
    • Boat trips from Fuschl to the Schloss fishery are offered several times a day from May to October

    Hallein - Salt Worlds 

    Discover how salt was mined in the time of the Celts. The show mine in Hallein makes the world of "white gold" impressively tangible with mine shafts and miners' uniforms.

    Hohenwerfen Castle 

    Knights and damsels beware! The Hohenwerfen castle offers insights into medieval life and will impress you with its Birds of Prey show.

    5 Fingers Viewing Platform 

    The Dachstein cable car takes you to one of the most impressive viewing platforms in the Alps. You can test your head for heights on five different platforms.

    • ascent from the Krippenstein mountain station to the platform around 30 minutes
    • parking: free of charge (at the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car)
    Dachstein Ice Cave

    Unique and spectacular: the ice giants of the Dachstein Ice Cave offer a natural spectacle that is in a class of its own.

    Bad Ischl – Capital of Culture 2024

    Bad Ischl is rich in culture and will be named European Capital of Culture in 2024. Traces of history show how life was led in the days of the emperor, including in the famous Kaiservilla. Enjoy the famous Zaunerkipferl pastries and all the charm and nostalgia of this resort town beloved of visitors.

    Schafbergbahn at Lake Wolfgang

    Austria's steepest steam cogwheel railway has been running from St. Wolfgang am Wolfgangsee up the 1,783-metre Schafberg for more than a hundred years.
